Client First Breakfast Series - Session 2
Meridian West is hosting a series of breakfast roundtables for professionals working in law, accountancy, property and consultancy firms. Each session draws on our Client First research and whitepaper developed with King’s College London, combining evidence-based insight with peer discussion and practical sharing of what works in practice. Breakfast will be served, with time for open discussion and networking.
Commerciality and the Practicality of Advice
Clients consistently say the same thing: “Don’t advise us into paralysis.” While technical quality is rarely in doubt, advice is often experienced as overly cautious, theoretical, or lacking clear recommendations grounded in commercial reality.
This roundtable draws on findings from the Client First whitepaper with King’s College London, which highlights the gap between technical excellence and commercial impact. We will explore how clients define “practical” advice, how in-house teams make trade-offs, and why clear, business-friendly recommendations matter.
After a short insight briefing, discussion will focus on framing advice through a commercial lens, avoiding adviser syndrome, and producing concise outputs that clients can act on and share internally.
